Routines that hold
Bottles, solids, sleep training and naps — the early transitions first-time parents worry about most.
“Thanks to Djeneba, my 2 kids have the exact same nap schedule!” Sonia M., Upper East Side
Nanny · New York City · Since 2011
Fourteen years of calm, bilingual, full-time care for New York families — from first bottles and nap schedules to French words and library outings.
About
I’ve spent the last fourteen years looking after New York children from their first months at home through their first day of preschool. Most of the parents I’ve worked with were new to it, and much of what I do is help a household find its rhythm: a nap schedule that holds, a baby who takes the bottle, purées made from scratch, a toddler who says merci without being asked.
I’m a mother of two, originally from Mali, and a native French speaker. I’m looking for a full-time position with a family where I can care for little ones and contribute to their development, their education, and their happiness.

A native speaker who talks, reads and sings to children in French from the very start.
“Djeneba … is largely responsible for our son’s ability to fully speak and understand French.” Jade H. & Matthew A., Astoria
Purées from scratch when solids begin, then healthy meals through toddlerhood — often cooked ahead for the week.
“She has cooked practically every meal that our son has eaten.” Jade H. & Matthew A., Astoria
Children’s laundry done, dishes washed, toys back where they live — and photos from the park while you’re at work.

Experience
Most positions began with a baby under six months old and ended only when the child started preschool.
Introducing solids, sleep training, age-appropriate play and library outings, daily routines, French, and the child’s laundry and belongings.

Three and a half years with one family, through two household moves. Cooking every meal, laundry, French immersion, and the milestones in between — crawling, walking, naps, potty training.
Sleep-trained both girls onto the same nap schedule; cooked, and ran activities, stroller walks and library visits. Ended when the pandemic changed the family’s living arrangements.
The full arc from newborn to preschooler: bottles, schedules, solids, sitting, walking, potty training, letters and numbers, manners, playdates.
Covered the family’s primary nanny during her leave, keeping to the household’s nap and meal schedule and sending photos from playdates and the park.
School pickup, after-school activities, homework supervision, dinner and bath — three years with one family.
